Dr. Long Elementary was presented with a Wii Console by the American Heart 


Dr. Long Elementary was presented with a Wii Console by the American Heart Association on Friday, Dec. 16, after they raised the most money for the Wear Red for Women campaign last Spring. The campus raised over $440, which brought the district total contribution to $5,160. State Board of Education’s Heroes for Children Award presented to Pharr Elementary Parent Volunteer Leoba M. Castillo





PHARR – Leoba M. Castillo, parent volunteer at Pharr Elementary, has been recognized with the State Board of Education’s Heroes for Children Award. This award recognizes outstanding school volunteers throughout the State of Texas. She was presented with this award on Monday, Dec. 19 during the PSJA school board meeting by Board President Ben Garza, Jr.

 

PSJA’s Parental Involvement Director, Belia Rodriguez, nominated Castillo after learning of her commitment and contribution as a parent volunteer at Pharr Elementary.

 

Castillo has been a parent volunteer at her children’s school for two years and in one year alone contributed 1,404 service hours.
